The New Sunspel Underwear Collection

Sunspel has been crafting luxury underwear in England since 1860 and introduced the Boxer Short to Britain in 1947, after John Hill, the great-grandson of the brand’s founder, discovered the style during his honeymoon in the United States. Upon his return, Hill refined the design by adding a back panel, smoothing the seams, and using the world’s finest long-staple cotton, transforming a purely functional item into a truly luxurious garment. In 1985, the Boxer Short gained iconic status when it featured in Levi’s legendary laundrette advert starring Nick Kamen, becoming an overnight sensation and a lasting style staple. Today, the Sunspel Boxer Short is still made with the same attention to detail and makes up nearly 50% of Sunspel’s underwear sales, with Boxer Short sales seeing a 50% increase over the last 6 months alone*.

The 40-Year Archive Reissue, pays homage to Sunspel’s innovation. This limited release reintroduces three archival stripe colour ways, presented in packaging inspired by the original archive pieces. A true nod to our heritage, these boxers embody the timeless elegance and attention to detail that have defined Sunspel for over 160 years.
